More workshops announced in Manchester for National Coding Week 2017
While plans for the Django & Rails Girls workshops are now well underway, more workshops have been announced across Manchester for National Coding Week. All events are free to attend!
Grow your front-end web development skills by playing Flexbox Froggy, an online game that will teach you the fundamentals of Flexbox through the medium of frogs.
Monday 18th September 6 – 9 pm: REGISTER
Teaching Tech Knowledge Exchange
Have you been involved in, or have an interest in, teaching, training or mentoring within the tech industry?
Teaching Tech Knowledge Exchange is an evening of lightning talks to share knowledge and ideas and hear different perspectives. Ending with a ‘poster hack’ where we’ll produce small posters to illustrate/explain a range of technical or tech-related concepts and after the event, we’ll compile them all together into a booklet!
Tuesday 19th September 6 – 9 pm: REGISTER
Free Code Camp: free for all
An event with 3 parts; Free Code Camp ambassadors will present their stories about learning to code and finding work as a developer in Manchester, a study group for those wanting to work on Freecodecamp.com challenges, and an exhibition of coding projects Free Code Campers have completed, showing you examples of what you could build with a little dedication.
Wednesday 20th September 6 – 9 pm: REGISTER
Learn about and play with the building blocks of web design – HTML. You’ll leave having built your first web page, learnt where coding can take you and how you can get there!
Grow your front-end web development skills by playing Grid Garden, an online game that will teach you the fundamentals of CSS Grid through the metaphor of gardening.
Friday 22nd September 6 – 9 pm: REGISTER
Learn about and playing with the master of file management – GIT. You’ll leave having learnt about deploying your code, making changes, pushes, pulls, branches and masters – all the important stuff you’d need to know to get your code working and how to work on larger projects with your fellow coders.
