Whilst my visit to Vapiano Manchester was complementary, this review is my honest and unbiased opinion.
Last week we visited Vapiano Manchester to check out their new restaurant, and their #EatPastaRunFaster menu.
What is Vapiano?
Vapiano is a laid back, quirky, self service restaurant. On entry you’re each given a card, which is swiped each time you place an order, and handed over when you finish to work out how much your visit has cost. You place your orders direct with the kitchen, and watch your food being prepared right in front of you. All ingredients are super fresh, with pasta & pizza dough being made on site each morning, and fresh herbs are readily available on each table.
When placing your order with the kitchen, the chefs are all happy to help you make choices and tweak your selection until it’s perfect for you. The more adventurous among you may even go off menu and ask the chef to surprise them. You can give suggestion or let them know what sort of meals you like, and they’ll knock you up a personalised dish right before your eyes.
Vapiano have also launched their campaign to promote carbs as part of a balanced fitness and diet plan. Teaming up with nutritionist Dr Sarah Schenker, the Eat Pasta Run Faster diet plans were created. There are two diet plans;
- The five day diet plan for regular runners
- The three day diet plan for long distance runners
Each one is designed to balance carbohydrate intake with plenty of protein and healthy fasting. They team delicious pasta dishes with vegetable packed breakfast, soups and salads, and lighter evening meals.
We were delighted to be able to sample some dishes at the Vapiano Manchester restaurant. Opting for a Chicken Alfredo and unfolded version of their Calzone pizza.
It was great to watch the dishes being prepared in front of you, and I was given some great recommendations from the chef. My Chicken Alfredo was divine! It was my first experience of campanelle pasta, which I loved, and the dish was teamed with just the right amount of chilli to give it a little kick, without the spice being too over powering. The dish also comes with two slices of freshly baked ciabatta bread!
For the pizza we chose the Calzone from the menu, but asked for it to be done as a regular pizza, which was no problem. It was obvious from the taste that everything was fresh, and we both enjoyed tucking into each other’s choices. Portion sizes are very good too, with the pizzas being around 10 inches, and the pasta dishes being large fill you up for hours.
We really enjoyed our visit to Vapiano Manchester, and we’ll definitely be back again soon. In fact, I took my mum for lunch today!Thanks for reading!
