Escape Room World Tournament comes to Manchester!

Escape Room World Tournament comes to Manchester!

Think yourself a bit of an escape game enthusiast? Why not put your skill to the test and enter the Red Bull Mindgamers challenge. As far as we know, this will be the first escape room world tournament. Are you up to the challenge?

The 2016 Red Bull Mind Gamers Mission is created by Playful Solutions, inspired by ‘MindGamers’ the movie by Terra Mater and by a Game Jam hosted at MIT. Who will be the world’s best Mind Gamers?

To get involved, you need to first take part in a local qualifier event. Open to teams of up to four players, you are tasked with unlocking a mysterious digital cube. If your team is the national winner, you’ll be invited to take part in the Escape Room World  Tournament Finals.

This ultimate mixed reality Escape Room World Tournament will be held in Budapest in March 2017, and it will see the best of the best compete to be world champion.

Fancy your chances? There are two qualifying events in the UK, held at Breakout Manchester, and Breakout Cardiff. The Manchester qualifiers are held on the 5th December at Breakout, will you be there?

To qualify, you need to pass an online test known as the Enoch Mission, which is a combination of a sliding puzzle and a pipes connector puzzle, with each round becoming increasingly difficult.

Pass the single player online mission, and you might be in with a chance of taking your team to the multiplayer qualifier in Manchester or Cardiff.

We think that this looks awesome! But the weird thing is, that it’s tied to the film DxM. We saw the World Premiere of DxM at Grimmfest, and despite claiming to be the next Matrix or Inception, it was completely lost in translation, and ended up just being pretty pants.
